Homemade Laundry Detergent

I waited to post this until I had time to really test it out. We’ve only been using it on our towels and sheets the past couple of months and so far so good! It does a great job cleaning the laundry and smells really good also.

About 5 years ago, I had made the liquid kind but it stripped our clothes faster than normal wear and tear so I went back to store bought detergent.

But, as you can imagine, with a large family we go through a *LOT* of laundry and I felt like I was buying detergent all the time.

So I decided to give this a go.
It’s really simple. Mix together all the ingredients pictured. Grate the Zote soap and stir in.
I keep mine in air tight containers (like my son’s formula containers).

There will be mixed opinions on homemade detergent, but for our family it seems to get the job done. 👍🏻

I’m sure there will be some questions so here you go! 🤪

🌀Cost? Around $24.

🌀Time to make? Maybe 5-10 minutes. Grating the soap is the only time consuming aspect of it.

🌀Amount per load? I use about 2 to 3 tablespoons.

🌀Where did find the ingredients? Walmart, but the product links under Amazon are listed below.

🌀Will you make it again? ABSOLUTELY! 🤩

Here are the different links to the products needed:
