After taking inventory of our fridge, pantry, and freezer yesterday I realize I wasn’t going to need a large ClickList order next week like I had anticipated. (YAY!)
So instead, I made a list of all the meals I already had on hand, which ended up being like 12. (Thanks to me slacking on cooking some last month😜)
Which made it pretty easy to compile a shopping list solely for the ingredients I needed to finish up the other meals plus fresh fruits, veggies, milk, eggs, etc.
So I loaded up, list in hand, and headed to Aldi. I haven’t been to Aldi since I was full term pregnant… and it’s safe to say I’ve gotten spoiled with Kroger ClickList! It became a 3 hour process after it was all said and done. It’s always funny to me how I take my time getting everything nicely organized in the buggy, just for the cashier to throw everything in a New cart. 🙄 Which means I had to reorganize and pack up all the groceries again to load up in the van.
Anyone who has ever shopped at Aldi knows exactly what I’m talking about!
But the plus side is I shouldn’t have to do it again for a little while! 🙌🏻
Total Cost for this haul: $255.19Everything pictured will also go towards breakfast, lunches, and snacks.
The more I meal plan the easier it has become. I can’t stress that enough. It can become extremely overwhelming in the beginning but don’t give up.
It also helps that I have all of you to help me stay motivated. ☺️
My goal is to track every dinner (including the cost) for the next 30 days and see if it is as cost effective as I feel it is for our family of seven.
