Lasagna (Freezer Meal Option)

Meal prep Monday continues!

COST: @ $25 for 3 or @ $8.50 each

Made 3 lasagnas

1 for dinner tonight & lunch tomorrow

2 for the Freezer πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸ»

Ingredients for 3 Large sized Lasagnas:

4 jars of spaghetti sauce (.99 x 4 = $3.96)

3 boxes of oven ready lasagna noodles (1.99 x 3 = $5.97)

2 lbs pork sausage, ground beef, or ground turkey (cooked, drained) (1.99 x 2 = $3.98)

Cottage cheese @ $4

Ricotta Cheese $1.89

Shredded mozzarella cheese $3.98

Parmesan cheese @ .15cents

2 cans of mushrooms (.59 x 2 = $1.18)

Spices @ .10 cents

  1. Line the bottom of the pans with a layer of spaghetti sauce

  2. Cook the sausage – drain

  3. In a large bowl mix the cottage cheese and ricotta cheese together – sprinkle in some Parmesan

  4. Add some Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt and pepper – stir

  5. In another large bowl, combine the spaghetti sauce, mushrooms, and cooked sausage – stir

  6. Create a layer of pasta, sauce mixture, then cheese mixture – repeat

  7. After all the ingredients are used up top with mozzarella cheese

  8. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  9. Cover dish with aluminum foil and bake for 35 minutes

  10. Add additional layer of cheese (if you prefer) and bake an additional 15 minutes

*If cooking from the freezer be sure to let it thaw out overnight in the refrigerator
